Please be welcome
One could argue that the most vulnerable natural areas really shouldn't be visited by humans at all. However, many areas in the Netherlands have been, very deliberately, opened up. One of the main reasons is that if people can experience nature, there is more public support for nature conservation. Most areas where FREE Nature works are therefore open to visitors. In addition, we work with volunteers in all areas where FREE Nature manages herds. Volunteers are an important cornerstone in the work of FREE Nature. Without them, we would not be able to optimally develop and manage all our beautiful areas.
And let's face it, what could be better than wandering freely through nature? Being constantly amazed by the seasonal changes of nature and enjoying the spectacle of two fighting stallions or newborn calves trailing behind their mothers. In autumn you can hear the red deer belling during the rut. The flying bald eagle casts a large shadow on the ground. A group of European bison disappears into thin air as they walk through the forest. A rot of wild boar thunders across the plain. And who knows, if you are very lucky, you might see a wolf or lynx. The chances are very slim, but just the mere thought of it, is amazing. Excitement and adventures aplenty!
